From Miriam- Very exciting! Join me and Isabel in our conversation on zoom.
SFCC Library presents “Spirit of Collaboration: Using Images and Words to Create Stories of Mothers and Daughters,” a free online presentation from 5 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22. Presentation features work by Miriam Sagan and Isabel Winson-Sagan.Register at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Sagan2026
They will share about their new book, “Fables from the Flower World”. They will give a short reading, a slide show, and talk about how they worked together. They will also offer a glimpse of their Maternal Mitochondria project, “A Wind Phone off of Route 14”.
Registrants will receive a Zoom link via email the morning of the event. Participants should note that the starting time is 5 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).

Maternal Mitochondria will be speaking at SITE Santa Fe on November 10th at 6pm. Reservations are required, however the talk will also be available online a few weeks after the event. You can reserve your seat on the Creative Santa Fe website.

On September 21st Tim and I will be demoing suminagashi as part of the SFCC & IAIA joint open houses. Find us at Santa Fe Community College from 12-2:30 in the 700 block! Lots of other cool events will be happening as well, from tintypes to 3-D printing. See the full schedule here.

Maternal Mitochondria has been invited to be the featured artists for the month of May at the Southside library branch! Please join us for book arts, snacks, and secret poetry.

Come say hi, and help add to our interactive artwork,“What Am I Hiding and What Do I Hope For?,” which asks visitors to hang their own answers on sculptural trees or put them in slot boxes.

There will be grab and go snacks. And you can visit Southside’s Seed Library, bookstore, or even return those overdue books!
