The Spell: The Magic of Words and Imagery
The Spell is an upcoming show in the Visual Arts Gallery at Santa Fe Community College, showcasing work by Maternal Mitochondria. I’m really excited to showing at my alma mater and with so many local artists whom I admire!
Opens: Thursday, October 6th, from 4-6pm
Closes: Thursday, December 8th
Suminagashi Demo
On September 21st Tim and I will be demoing suminagashi as part of the SFCC & IAIA joint open houses. Find us at Santa Fe Community College from 12-2:30 in the 700 block! Lots of other cool events will be happening as well, from tintypes to 3-D printing. See the full schedule here.

A small journal I made for class! Bound in white leather, with my suminagashi decorating the covers and end papers.
Scratch- or Tiamat, Caught in the Net
Jigsaw Print
Each color in this jigsaw print is an individual piece of wood, put together like a puzzle and hand-pressed onto paper with a barren. The black lines come from a keyplate, which is a separate piece of plywood, hand carved.
Catch of the Day
Some relief printmaking I’ve been noodling around with! This is a 3 color reduction print on linoleum. The design is based on an 14th century Arab manuscript, depicting a Pisces sign in honor of my daughter.
