We are excited to host eclectic multimedia performances at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds! Performance schedules below. All performance events are free with CURRENTS Festival admission tickets. Please note, Sandbox Music is a partner event with and located at Jean Cocteau Cinema with $15 tickets (limited seating).
I am looking for an art assistant in Santa Fe, especially a teenager who would like to make a little $ this summer.
Pay: $15 an hour, probably 1-2 days a week but I’m flexible. Location: Private studio on the southside. Requirements: Preferably someone who is interested in art and has a reliable mode of transportation. We are also a kid and dog-friendly space.
Basically I need some help doing things that are a little hard for me physically, but shouldn’t be too difficult for someone else. Light dusting, moving boxes, prepping fabric for dyeing. I’m also more than happy to include free art lessons! We have the facilities to do printmaking, photography, woodcarving, marbling, dyeing, sewing/embroidery/yarn etc, Cricut, and 3D printing (starting in July). I’m probably missing something, so ask if there’s something specific you’d like to know about!
If their parents sign a waiver, they can also have supervised access to our woodshop and metalshop. My husband loves to teach welding! He also trained as a blacksmith.
We would need to do an interview first to make sure everyone gets along! Hoping to find a good fit. I will also be extra slammed during the CURRENTS festival, which runs from the 16th-25th, so may not be able to start until after that.
If you’re interested, please e-mail me at ws.isabel@yahoo.com
I was surprised and very excited to receive “Best in Show” at this years Members’ Show with Foto Forum. It’s nice to know that my tired mom art was seen and appreciated by other tired parents!
For those who don’t know, Foto Forum Santa Fe is an amazing non-profit photography space in Santa Fe. They have all the equipment you need to do alternative processes and work in a darkroom! It also happens to be down the street from where I grew up.
And since personally I always want to know how a photograph was made- this was taken and mostly edited on an android phone.

For my birthday this year, I am raising money for Currents New Media. I’ve had a wonderful experience this last year being on the Board, and this year’s festival should be even more exciting! Currents is re-committing to local artists for the 2023 festival, with an increased emphasis on performance. There *might* even be an underwater piece at the Chavez Center (🤯). So please consider supporting this fabulous New Mexico Arts organization with me for 2023!
There is a fundraiser on my Facebook page, or you can donate directly to Currents through their website. Or, even consider becoming a Patreon member!
Parallel Studios, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been producing, curating, and designing small- and large-scale video exhibitions in Santa Fe since 2002. In 2010, we launched CURRENTS NEW MEDIA as an annual, citywide event. The festival brings together the work of established and emerging new media artists, from New Mexico, the United States, and across the world for events showcasing interactive and non-interactive installations, multimedia performances, VR and AR environments, single channel video, animation, experimental documentary, web based/app art forms, robotics and 3D printing. Parallel Studios reaches out to local high and middle school students through its Youth Media Makers Program.
